Leading Professional Learning

Course Information

The Leading Professional Learning (LPL) Programme, is our tailored Train the Trainer programme, designed to equip trainers and subject matter experts, with the skills needed to train other adults and deliver Professional Development within their own context or organisation.

Who is this programme for?

If you are a tasked with delivering professional development in your context and want to know how to effectively engage and motivate adults in their learning, this course is for you. This programme will help you to consider all aspects of adult learning and how to utilise the time effectively, so that the training experience is positive, memorable, and impactful.

How is this programme organised?

This is a one day programme consisting a of three sessions, that are framed on the LPL acronym: Learners, People, Learning

Session 1: we focus on adults as learners, what their learning preferences and needs are, and how to ensure their learning experiences are immediately useful and relevant.

Session 2: we consider how to deal with ‘different’, not ‘difficult’ personalities in our training rooms, and discuss how to best organise people within the training spaces.

Session 3: we have fun and go shopping! We will browse a range of activities and tasks that we can hypothetically purchase to be able to engage all learners in all training rooms.

What are the benefits of this programme?

Throughout the entire programme, participants will be constantly switching roles – thinking of themselves as learners, and then as trainers. We specifically model all aspects of effective training, using a multitude of different activities, so that participants can be consciously critical of their own experiences, and equally of what they use or what they would differently in their own training sessions.
