Course Information

This session will focus on the issue of ethics within community research. The issue of ethics and ethical research is one that is essential to any research but is particularly pertinent in the context of research that focuses on communities.

The session will examine some of the processes and procedures that are likely to be involved in most research projects, before turning to the question of what ethical considerations may be particular to research of this kind. Following this, we will talk about our mandatory obligations, and how we can go beyond these to promote ethically positive research in a space that lends itself to such an approach.

Participants will be asked to test their intuitions by looking at a number of case studies to discuss, and finally there will be the opportunity to present any specific questions or queries via an Ethics Clinic, hosted by Dr Divers.
