Introduction to Electric Drives

The course offers a comprehensive introduction to electric drives, focusing on their control, setup, and configuration through various teaching styles. It covers the structures, applications, and fundamental control requirements of electric drives, along with the necessary steps for configuration. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to practice control methods in different laboratory sessions.

Course Information

The course is structured into two full comprehensive days. Each day consists of four sessions: two in the morning and two in the afternoon, with each session lasting approximately 90 minutes. On the first day, learners will focus on the theoretical aspects, supported by examples and practical exercises. The second day will shift towards practical applications, featuring various labs. Ultimately, the course will emphasize advanced topics for learners to explore and consider for their future endeavours.

  • Applications and Power Electronics requirement.
  • Configuration Needed for the Machines Supported by Practical Example

    • On the second day, the four sessions will focus mainly on the below topics:

  • Hardware and Software Setup for DC-DC Back-to-Back System with Practical Verification
  • Characterization of the Induction Machine and Start-Up Transient
  • Phase Synchronous Machine Experiment
  • Encoders and Advance Topics
