Health Inequalities Training

Course Information

This Health Inequalities training provides a comprehensive understanding of the causes, impacts, and solutions to health disparities across communities. Participants will explore how social determinants—such as income, education, housing, and employment—shape health outcomes, and why certain groups, including socially excluded populations and those with protected characteristics, are disproportionately affected. The session introduces key concepts like equity vs equality, intersectionality, and trauma-informed practice, alongside national frameworks such as Core20PLUS5 and Marmot principles. Through interactive activities, videos, and group discussions, learners will critically reflect on their own practice and identify actionable steps to reduce inequalities. By the end of the training, attendees will be equipped with practical strategies to embed health equity into service design and delivery, ensuring fairer access and better outcomes for all.
