GNSS & Network RTK and High Precision GNSS Combined

Learning Outcomes

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of GNSS positioning, as well as the different modes available for achieving various levels of precision. By exploring common error sources, their magnitude, and effective mitigation strategies, candidates will learn how to assess and enhance the accuracy of GNSS observations. Additionally, they will develop practical skills in GNSS data processing using Leica Infinity, focusing on techniques for achieving high-accuracy positioning.

Course Agenda

  • Day 1- GPS overview, modes of positioning, error sources
  • Day 2- How GPS positioning works, Urban environment positioning, coordinate systems, datums and transformations
  • Day 3- Advanced error sources, Network RTK theory and practice, future developments in GNSS
  • Day 4- Processing strategies, antenna models, orbit and clock products, atmospheric modelling
  • Day 5- Multipath, ocean tide loading, long baselines, network design

Please note this course is also available as a 3 day programme focused exclusively on GNSS & Network RTK and a 2 day programme focused exclusively on High precision GNSS. Please see the links below for further information.
