Ethics in Community Research: What do we Need to Think About?
Eligibility Criteria
This programme is open to people and organisations based in the North East and North Cumbria, as well as those from the following organisations:
- NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)
- NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC)
- NIHR Innovation Observatory (IO)
- NIHR Research Support Service (RSS)
- NIHR Policy Research Unit (PRU)
- NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN)
- NIHR HRC in Diagnostic and Technology Evaluation (HRC)
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, learners will:
- Understand the basics of how to put together a research protocol suitable for ethics submission
- Be familiar with the main tenets of GDPR and Data Protection, and what data is appropriate to take for a project, and how to store and share this data.
- Begin to explore deeper issues around research ethics, and how we can work to go beyond our statutory obligations to our participants, other researchers and the wider community.
