This module includes: an overview of the road collision problem in the UK and how it compares internationally information on how road safety is part of transport policy methods for managing safety processes, management, and research an introduction to recent road safety developments.

Collision Prevention and Reduction :

This is the second of three modules which take up the Road Safety CPD course. This module will cover:

  • How collision data is used, stored, and interpreted
  • Selecting and prioritising locations to investigate
  • Defining the road collision problem
  • Road safety schemes
  • Options for treating collision problems
  • Estimating savings and economic benefits

    This is the third of three modules which take up the Road Safety CPD course. This module will cover:

  • The road safety audit procedure
  • How to structure a road safety audit report
  • Case studies and a site visit

    Module 1 of 3: Road Safety Policy

    Module 2 of 3: Collision Prevention and Reduction

    Understand the scale and nature of the road accident problem in the UK, national and local transport policy, recent road safety developments, and how to manage the safety process.

    Module 3 of 3: Road Safety Audits

    Learn how road accidents happen and are recorded, and how to use and interpreting accident data to understand and prevent future accidents.
