YCT stands for Youth Chinese Test. It is an international standardized test for Chinese language proficiency, designed to assess the ability of primary and secondary school students to use Chinese as a second language in their daily and academic life.
The YCT is divided into two independent tests: a writing test and a speaking test. The writing test consists of four levels: YCT 1-4, while the speaking test has two levels: Primary and Intermediate. The Newcastle University Confucius Institute Test Centre currently offers all levels of both tests.
