Unlocking Young Voices: Engaging the Next Generation in Research
Eligibility Criteria
This programme is open to people and organisations based in the North East and North Cumbria, as well as those from the following organisations:
- NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)
- NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC)
- NIHR Innovation Observatory (IO)
- NIHR Research Support Service (RSS)
- NIHR Policy Research Unit (PRU)
- NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN)
- NIHR HRC in Diagnostic and Technology Evaluation (HRC)
This interactive training session, developed by young people, will equip researchers and academics with practical methods and insights for effectively involving children and young people (CYP) in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) activities and research. Participants will experience youth-devised interactive elements that demonstrate how to genuinely co-create research activities with CYP, fostering their voices in health research and interventions.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify key principles and benefits of involving children and young people in PPIE activities
- Apply practical methods for research activities for Young People
- Recognise and address challenges in engaging younger audiences in PPIE and research
